The truth

We don’t
sell dreams.

We help athletes build the habits, skills and mindset that give them a real chance to move forward.

Athletes work directly with founder Tomislav Gabrić. His experience as a professional player, coach and fitness professional shapes every development plan.

Success takes time. Talent matters, but discipline, patience and consistency decide how far you can go.

What we do now

Real support.
No inflated promises.

Hoop’Ra is a founder-led basketball development and advisory organization. We help serious young players and their families understand the work, build a plan and prepare for the right next step.

01

Player evaluation

An honest look at the athlete’s game, physical development, habits, mindset and current environment.

02

Development planning

Clear priorities for skill work, athletic preparation, recovery, film and daily accountability.

03

Individual development

Player-specific technical work built around strengths, weaknesses, position and long-term potential.

04

European pathway guidance

Evaluation and honest guidance for selected players interested in playing basketball, studying or combining both in Europe.

05

Film & profile guidance

Help presenting real progress through credible video, player information and an honest basketball story.

06

Mentorship

Direct guidance for athletes and parents navigating expectations, adversity, decisions and the long development process.

07

U.S. school placement support

We help players and families explore high school, prep school and college options in the United States when the fit is right. Academic needs, basketball level, development goals and family budget guide the search. We support introductions and applications where appropriate; admission, roster spots and scholarships are not guaranteed.

Choose the right starting point

Online or
in person.

Both options use the same honest development standard. In-person evaluation provides the most complete view; online evaluation gives athletes outside the area a credible place to begin.

Available worldwide

Online player evaluation

  • One or two full-game film reviews
  • Skill-video review
  • Athlete and parent questionnaire
  • Video consultation
  • Written strengths and development needs
  • 30–90-day priorities and next-step guidance

Live basketball assessment

In-person player evaluation

  • Live basketball workout
  • Shooting, finishing, handling and footwork assessment
  • Passing and decision-making drills
  • Defensive movement and general conditioning observations
  • Coachability and response-to-feedback assessment
  • Parent consultation and written development plan
Important: An evaluation is a professional basketball-development assessment—not a medical examination, injury diagnosis or guarantee of placement, scholarships, contracts or future results.

How we work

The Hoop’Ra
development path

A simple, honest process built around the athlete, without hype, promises or shortcuts.

01

Evaluate honestly

Understand the player’s game, body, mindset, habits and current environment.

02

Build the plan

Set clear priorities for skill work, athletic development, film and daily discipline.

03

Do the work

Train with purpose, stay consistent and accept that real development is earned over time.

04

Document progress

Build credible film and a player story based on actual growth, never manufactured hype.

05

Prepare for opportunity

Position the athlete for the next appropriate level when the work shows they are ready.

What it takes

You bring the hunger.
We build the plan.

Discipline

Do what the plan requires, even on the days motivation disappears.

Patience

Respect the process. A real basketball journey is measured in years, not posts.

Consistency

Small, focused work repeated over time creates visible change.

Character

How you learn, respond and treat people matters beyond the scoreboard.

Our values

What guides
the work.

We work with motivated young players and families through a clear, development-first standard.

Honesty

We give players and families clear feedback, realistic guidance and straight answers. We never promise scholarships, offers or contracts.

Integrity

Impact

We aim to make a lasting difference for motivated young talents—building skills, confidence, discipline and direction on and off the court.

Connected across borders

Raised in Croatia.
Open to the world.

Tomislav Gabrić grew up playing basketball in Croatia and continued his journey through European basketball. Those experiences—and Mario Mikulčiċ’s coaching and scouting work in Europe—give Hoop’Ra an authentic connection to the European game.

For selected players interested in playing basketball, studying or combining both in Europe, Hoop’Ra can provide evaluation, preparation and pathway guidance. Availability is limited, and every case depends on the player’s level, academics, eligibility, timing, documentation and the independent decisions of clubs, schools and programs.

Basketball development does not have to follow one familiar route. For the right athlete, one season in Europe can become a powerful development year: learning a different style of basketball, experiencing another culture, strengthening fundamentals and decision-making, and becoming a more adaptable and versatile player wherever the journey leads next. This path is not right for everyone, and Hoop’Ra recommends it only when it fits the athlete’s development, maturity and long-term goals.

Our European basketball experience informs our work, but our purpose is global. Hoop’Ra welcomes hungry athletes from every background who value disciplined fundamentals, honest feedback, team responsibility and patience with the development process.

No guaranteed placement. A connection does not guarantee a roster spot, admission, scholarship, visa or contract. Development and honest readiness come first.

For athletes and parents

Questions deserve
straight answers.

What is Hoop’Ra Sports?

Hoop’Ra is a founder-led basketball development and advisory organization. We help serious young players and their families evaluate the current situation, build a development plan and prepare for appropriate opportunities.

What is the difference between online and in-person evaluation?

Online evaluation is based on full-game film, skill video, a questionnaire and a video conversation. In-person evaluation adds a live workout, movement assessment, direct coaching and observation of how the athlete responds to feedback. In-person evaluation is more complete, while online evaluation is a strong starting point for athletes outside the area.

What ages do you work with?

Hoop’Ra primarily works with developing teenage basketball players. Every situation is evaluated individually, and a parent or legal guardian must participate when the athlete is under 18.

Do you guarantee scholarships, contracts or professional opportunities?

No. No honest organization can guarantee those outcomes. Hoop’Ra provides evaluation, development guidance, mentorship and preparation. The athlete’s work, ability, academics, timing and decisions by independent teams or schools determine opportunities.

Can Hoop’Ra help players interested in Europe?

Hoop’Ra can evaluate and guide selected players interested in playing basketball, studying or combining both in Europe. Spots are limited, and support depends on basketball level, academic standing, eligibility, timing, documentation and available programs. Hoop’Ra does not guarantee admission, scholarships, team placement, visas or contracts.

Do you work with international athletes?

Yes. Hoop’Ra is shaped by European basketball experience and is open to serious athletes from different backgrounds and locations. Practical support depends on the athlete’s needs and location.

What happens after an application?

We review the athlete’s information and film, then decide whether an initial conversation makes sense. If there is a fit, we schedule a conversation with the athlete and parent, complete an online or in-person evaluation and explain the recommended next step.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on the evaluation format and level of support required. We explain the scope and price before any paid work begins. Submitting an application does not create a contract or payment obligation.
